IL CASTELLO SFORZESCO

Designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the world's oldest shopping malls and a pure symbol of Milan. Housed within a four-story double arcade in central Milan, the Galleria is named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy.

BASILICA DI SANT'EUSTORGIO E CAPPELLA PORTINARI

This basilique, dating back to the 3rd and 4th century AD, was built over a cemetery where it was believed that the Apostle Barnabas had baptized the first Christians. The Portinari Chapel is one of the most famous examples of the Renaissance art in Milan, decorated with frescoes by Vincenzo Foppa and home to the marble tomb of Saint Peter Martyr, carved in the 14th century by Giovanni di Balduccio, a scholar of Giovanni Pisano.
